One of the oldest licenses in Greece

Victor Distillery was established in 1967 by Viktor Parianos in Karlovasi, on the island of Samos, where it continues to operate to this day. Since 1984, it has held an official distillation licence, one of the oldest active licenses in Greece. A family-owned distillery, Victor is rooted in the long-standing distilling tradition of Samos.

Viktor Parianos had a clear vision: to craft ouzo, vermouth, and liqueurs with a distinctive identity, using local ingredients sourced from Samos, celebrated for its aromatic herbs and world-renowned sweet Muscat wine. His pursuit of unique raw materials, combined with his expertise and passion, gave rise to authentic, high-quality spirits.

Among them, the now iconic Victor Ouzo is distinguished by its smooth, balanced taste and the characteristic aromas of both the Aegean and Samos’s nature. Its traditional Greek distillation method, still used today, involves a handcrafted copper still. The slow distillation process ensures a clean and gentle finish on the palate.

With the same dedication, Viktor also created the deep-coloured Victor Brandy, based on the island’s sweet Muscat wine. His secret recipe gave a rounded flavour, velvety texture, and complex aroma profile, making it one of the most beloved Greek spirits.

After Victor, the business was succeeded by his son, Vangelis Parianos. With a background in chemistry, he integrated advanced technology and modern methods at every stage of production, research, and quality control. Today, the management of the company is in the hands of the third generation, under the watchful eye of Matilda Parianos, who follows market trends and the everchanging needs of consumers, and expands the company’s portfolio into new markets and product categories.

Despite ongoing innovation, Victor’s production process remains loyal to its origins. The traditional methods continue to define the character and flavour of Victor’s spirits. The family recipes, now enriched with contemporary techniques, are also used in the creation of special wines, alcoholic beverages, Greek liqueurs, and apéritifs. Additionally, the company produces pure alcohol, in strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

The company was founded with a mission to preserve the authenticity of Greek spirits, combining heritage and expertise with modern production standards and evolving consumer expectations.

From its earliest days, Victor has placed great emphasis on using high-quality ingredients, with a strong focus on sustainability and local sourcing. Ouzo, the company’s flagship product, is still distilled in copper stills using traditional Greek methods, offering an authentic taste experience that reflects the spirit of the island.

Victor is a family-run distillery, now in its third generation. The founder laid the foundation of quality and authenticity. The second generation expanded the company’s reach beyond Samos. Now, the third generation embraces a rich legacy with respect, passion, and vision.

Nowadays, manager of the company is Victor’s son, Vangelis Parianos, chemist. Having as a basic guideline its long tradition, Victor sa is always up to dated on modern facilities as well as the needs of the market. Our company has established a food safety management system that is in conformance with the principles of HAACP and the Food Management System Standards.

Although our facilities are very modern, we continue to produce Ouzo and Brandy the traditional way. Using old recipes of our family we produce high quality wines, spirits, liqueurs, aperitifs as well as pure spirit. Our products are leaders in the Dodecanese and you can find them in the biggest super markets of the country.
